Biographies
Sarah Cliffe, an Executive Editor at the Harvard Business Review, has been with the Review since 1999. Previously she was the Editor of the MIT Sloan Management Review. The mother of 17-year-old twins, she lives in Belmont, Massachusetts.
Julia Kirby is Senior Editor-at-Large for Harvard Business Review. Julia joined HBR in 2000 and currently covers technology, innovation and operations.
Bronwyn Fryer is a is a business writer and editor who collaborates with thought leaders to produce influential books, articles, and other publications. She is a contributing editor at the Harvard Business Review, the premier business magazine. Previously, she spent nearly ten years at Harvard Business Review, as a senior editor. She has worked with hundreds of thought leaders, including behavioral economist Dan Ariely, author of Predictably Irrational; human resources and executive recruiting expert Claudio Fernández-Aráoz, author of Good People Decisions; innovation guru John Kao, author of Innovation Nation and Jamming; leadership expert Dave Ulrich, author of The Leadership Code; Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers; historian David McCullough; mind-body expert Dr. Herbert Benson; filmmaker Robert Redford; and academics, including Harvard professors Nitin Nohria, David Garvin and Amy Edmondson as well as Stanford’s Debra Meyerson and Robert Sutton.
Whitney Johnson is a founding partner of Rose Park Advisors, Clayton M. Christensen's investment firm. Previously, she was a double-ranked Institutional Investor analyst at Merrill Lynch covering both telecom and media in the emerging markets. Carolyn Monaco is a seasoned marketer with over 20 years of publishing experience – began her career at The Atlantic Monthly. She was then recruited by Lotus Development for the launch team of their pending magazine, whose circulation grew to 400,000 in just three years. Subsequently, Carolyn’s consumer marketing work included Cook’s Illustrated, Horticulture, Inc. magazine, and Fast Company. She became the founding general manager/marketing director for Tufts University’s new for-profit company, Tufts Media, which acquired and launch a number of newsletters and books.
Most recently, Carolyn was Marketing Director of Harvard Business School Publishing’s book division. She launched three bestsellers in her last year: Total Leadership by Stewart Friedman; Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies by Forrester analysts Josh Bernoff and Charlene Li; and A Sense of Urgency by John Kotter.
Madelyn Sierra is a Senior Engagement Manager at Harvard Business Publishing (HBP), where she manages the service delivery of a virtual leadership development program. She consults with corporate and professional services clients to identify key learning objectives, design curriculum and content. She also provides program oversight and moderation of faculty and author seminars and virtual case discussions to multiple audiences based in international locations. In addition, Madelyn is an executive coach with the Harvard Business School Execution Education programs.
