Three Generations of Women in the Art Business: A Passion for Collecting

One of our most popular events is back! We hope that you can join us at the gallery of Ruth Silberstein to learn about how starting or adding to your collection can be surprisingly affordable...

Ruth Silberstein is the owner of the Ruth Silberstein Gallery, who along with her daughter Amy, runs a business selling original works of art by 20th Century modern masters.  Traveling to Europe every year to select artwork to refresh her inventory, Ruth has a great eye for what her customer in New England wants. Ruth’s mother is the founder of the prestigious Hilde Gerst Gallery in New York City’s Carlisle Hotel.

HBS alums and their guests are invited to join Ruth and learn about why buying an original signed Picasso, Miro, Calder or Appel lithograph is not only a way to live with something you love, but is surprisingly affordable and can be an excellent investment as well.

Hear Ruth’s colorful stories about how she got her start in the business of selling fine art, and how the passion for collecting has become a family business spanning three generations of women.

We will meet in the intimate setting of Ruth Silberstein’s beautiful home and gallery in Chestnut Hill so space is limited.  Directions will be emailed to registrants.
